A dramatic text can, if you will, be compared to a map. Or even better, to a so-called “Wegkroki,” a route planner. It is meant to be incomplete, but the information that it does give provides an exact description of each and every point of reference in the area. Theatrical territory is the sum of white space in any arbitrary consciousness.
(A “Wegkroki” displays a route, footpath or cycling trail as a straight line. Any routes that branch off from the main path are merely hinted at – indicated as lines that do not continue. Prominent features along the path are indicated as symbols.)
