Ja – son! Medea calls subsequently. Jason! She shouts again, as Jason and Medea do not agree on this decision. And how could they? – He made it all by himself. This is the way it will be, he said to himself, and to her he said nothing. Jason and Medea are more than just at odds. (But things were going so well until now…) All of a sudden, they are not a couple anymore, they‘re two. Two lone warriors. Warriors in the battle of the sexes, in the war of cultures – dueling family members. At odds. No unity. Inherently embedded in this expression, which will now accompany them throughout their struggle, is Medea‘s answer to Jason‘s decision. No unity. Which leads to the following dialogue: Yes. – No. Yes. – No. Yes. – No. Or the other way around. No. – Yes, etc. And of course, they both use other words here and there, or even full sentences, yes, tirades of them! Yet at some point they inevitably reach an impasse.
